Located in Luxelake, south of Chengdu, China—a man-made lake community that seeks to revive the ancient water system of Chengdu while embracing today’s leisure-oriented waterfront lifestyle—Emerald illstrates the fusion of high-rise living and the waterfront landscape. Its pixelated form mediates the transition from the human scale of the podium to the urban scale of the tower’s peak. Rising 180 meters, Emerald is currently the only ultra high-rise residential tower within the development.

The podium integrates a boat terminal, clubhouse amenities, and a waterfront garden, while 46 residential floors ascend above. By articulating the massing into a composition of varied glass boxes, Emerald redefines the conventional hierarchy of tower living: every level offers a unique and desirable experience. Upper floors open to sweeping panoramic views, while lower floors provide indoor and outdoor spaces that connect residents more intimately to the waterfront landscape.
